Jayden Daniels reacts to oddly shaped elbow after viral photo

PUBLISHED: March 30, 2024 at 4:44 pm

Jayden Daniels, a promising NFL prospect, A photograph of his oddly shaped elbow went viral, sparking numerous theories and discussions.

While most would remember the Fall for the changing leaves and cozy weather, for Jayden Daniels, it was marked by a viral photograph of his elbow. The image, which showed an unusual, golf-ball sized lump on his right elbow, sparked a flurry of theories on social media, causing a stir among the NFL community.

The viral image led to a wave of unverified theories and speculations. However, the truth behind the odd shape of Daniels’ elbow was far from these conjectures. In fact, it was a case of olecranon bursitis, as explained by Dr. Laith M. Jazrawi, Chief of the Division of Sports Medicine at NYU Langone Orthopedics.

In this age of real-time information, Daniels didn’t remain silent on the matter. He took to social media platform X, addressing the speculations with a post that read, “my elbow is perfectly fine… stop the cap!!” The slang term “cap” he used signifies lies, reflecting his frustration over the false rumors.

According to Dr. Jazrawi, olecranon bursitis presents symptoms such as swelling and intermittent pain. The condition can be treated through a cortisone injection or surgery, both of which require a downtime recovery period of 2-3 weeks.

As one of the top prospects for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels underwent an extensive medical examination at the NFL Combine in February. Despite the confidentiality expected in such situations, significant concerns often find their way to the media.

Despite the elbow controversy, Daniels’ performance on the field remained unaffected. He clinched the Heisman Trophy with a whopping 3,812 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and just four interceptions during his season at LSU.

There’s a high probability of Daniels being picked by the Commanders as the No. 2 pick. However, if the Commanders decide on Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy or North Carolina’s Drake Maye, Daniels could potentially be chosen by the Patriots at No. 3.

Daniels, who is known for his humility and sportsmanship, was seen wearing a sweatshirt in honor of his teammate Greg Brooks Jr., who is battling cancer. This was during LSU’s Pro Day earlier in the week.
