A man has been arrested in Arizona in connection with a homicide that took place in a hotel in Manhattan, New York City. The suspect, identified as Raad Almansoori, has been implicated in the brutal killing of a woman, Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, at the SoHo 54 Hotel. This arrest has shed light on a potential series of crimes committed by the suspect, raising concerns about the safety of other individuals who may have crossed paths with him.

The tragic incident that unfolded at the SoHo 54 Hotel began with a heated argument between Raad Almansoori and Denisse Oleas-Arancibia over the duration of his stay in Room 1109. The altercation quickly escalated, leading to a violent outburst by Almansoori. In a fit of rage, he struck Oleas-Arancibia on the head with an iron, resulting in her untimely demise. Hotel staff made the horrifying discovery of Oleas-Arancibia’s lifeless body in the room.

Authorities initially had few leads in the investigation until Raad Almansoori’s arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona. The arrest came in connection with another crime: the stabbing of a woman at a McDonald’s restaurant. During the arrest, Almansoori shockingly confessed to being wanted for a murder in New York City. He urged investigators to search for information related to the SoHo 54 Hotel. This revelation provided a breakthrough in the case, linking Almansoori to the homicide of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia.

While currently in police custody in Maricopa County, Arizona, Raad Almansoori is awaiting extradition to New York. A prosecutor from the Manhattan district attorney’s office has traveled to Arizona to facilitate the transfer. Once in New York, the police plan to formally charge Almansoori with the murder of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia. It is noteworthy that Oleas-Arancibia was reportedly working as an escort at the time of her tragic death.

The arrest of Raad Almansoori in Arizona has raised concerns about any potential links to other crimes committed by him. According to Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny of the New York Police Department, Almansoori claimed to have harmed three additional women in Florida. Further investigations have revealed that Almansoori has a history of arrests in Arizona, Texas, and Florida. Notably, he faced charges of kidnapping and sexual assault in Sumter County, Florida, last year. Despite posting bail, he was released from custody.

In a shocking sequence of events, just nine days after the discovery of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia’s body, Raad Almansoori committed a carjacking in Phoenix, Arizona. During the carjacking, he stabbed the female driver before fleeing the scene. The following day, Almansoori entered a McDonald’s in Surprise, Arizona, where he dragged a woman into a bathroom and stabbed her as well. His arrest occurred in Scottsdale, Arizona, while driving a stolen car.

In light of the potential dangers posed by Raad Almansoori, the New York Police Department is collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to determine if there are any additional instances of sexual assault or homicide that may be linked to the suspect. Chief Kenny emphasized the importance of thoroughly investigating Almansoori’s movements in Florida and Texas, where he previously resided and faced arrest. The aim is to ensure the safety of individuals who may have encountered him during his travels.

To understand the full scope of Raad Almansoori’s activities, it is crucial to examine the timeline of events leading up to and following Denisse Oleas-Arancibia’s tragic murder:

During the investigation into Denisse Oleas-Arancibia’s murder, the police made several significant discoveries. They found a broken iron in the hotel room, which was believed to be the murder weapon. Furthermore, a pair of pants covered in blood was recovered at the scene. These pants were sent for forensic examination to gather additional evidence. Video footage obtained by the police showed Oleas-Arancibia wearing distinct leggings at the SoHo 54 Hotel, while another video captured a man, later identified as Almansoori, leaving the hotel wearing the same leggings.

Raad Almansoori’s criminal history is deeply troubling. In addition to the murder of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia and the subsequent crimes committed in Arizona, he has been involved in a series of previous offenses. Notably, in Sumter County, Florida, Almansoori was charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman working as an escort. These disturbing incidents highlight the urgent need for a comprehensive investigation into Almansoori’s activities and potential connections to other crimes.

Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are actively searching for any potential victims who may have fallen prey to Raad Almansoori. Authorities are urging individuals who have had contact with Almansoori or have any relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation. Given Almansoori’s extensive travel history and the nature of his crimes, there is a genuine concern that there may be other victims across the country.
