Texas ‘Crazy Plane Lady’ sparks controversy with bikini photo

PUBLISHED: April 20, 2024 at 4:21 pm

Boldly voicing her controversial opinions, the infamous “crazy plane lady” of Texas has reinvented herself as a right-wing influencer, causing quite a stir on the internet.

In the summer of 2023, Tiffany Gomas became an internet sensation overnight. Known as the “crazy plane lady” from Texas, she grabbed headlines for a dramatic meltdown onboard an American Airlines flight. The incident, which involved Gomas accusing another passenger of thieving her AirPods, was caught on camera and quickly went viral.

Fast forward to the present day, and Gomas has managed to leverage her notoriety into a new career. She has metamorphosed from a disgruntled passenger into a right-wing influencer, utilizing social media platforms to voice her opinions and amass a significant following.

The internet was taken aback when Gomas shared a provocative image of herself on her social media account. The image showcased her in a revealing bikini, holding a can of the politically charged beverage, Ultra Right Beer. The brand proudly bills itself as a “100% woke-free American beer.”

The image was accompanied by a caption that sparked a heated debate. Gomas wrote, “Wonder how many people I’m gonna piss off with this post… So… is now an appropriate time to tell y’all men don’t belong in women’s sports?!”

The post evidently signaled Gomas’ intention to delve into the contentious issue of transgender athletes’ participation in sports. She seems determined to capitalize on the ongoing cultural conflicts to gain further relevance and expand her influence.

The post, viewed by nearly 8 million people, drew widespread criticism and stirred a heated conversation surrounding transgender rights and issues. Her stance on the matter was deemed controversial and sparked a backlash from a section of the public.

The debate surrounding the participation of transgender athletes in sports is a reflection of the broader cultural divide that has gripped the nation. Several states and municipalities in recent years have attempted to implement bans on transgender athletes competing in sports that do not align with their biological sex at birth.

Gomas’ home state of Texas is no stranger to this issue. Its county executive, Bruce Blakeman, has made transgender athlete bans a central campaign topic and quickly moved to put one into effect after his election. His decision, though widely supported, is currently facing a legal challenge from New York State Attorney General Letitia James.

Gomas’ past actions significantly contributed to her transformation into a right-wing influencer. Her infamous outburst on the American Airlines flight, where she was eventually asked to leave after accusing a fellow passenger of stealing her AirPods, catapulted her into the public eye.

Gomas later expressed remorse for her actions, describing her behavior on the flight as “completely unacceptable.” However, her apology did not deter her from leveraging her newfound fame to launch a career as an influencer.

As Gomas continues to court controversy with her bold statements and provocative posts, it remains to be seen how her journey as a right-wing influencer will unfold. Whether she will use her platform to promote constructive dialogue or further polarize debates is yet to be seen.
