Actress Kyra Sedgwick’s married life with her spouse, actor Kevin Bacon, is a testament to the bliss of finding the right partner.
When asked by Page Six about the glue that has held their relationship together for over 36 years, Sedgwick candidly responded, “We’re incredibly fortunate. We stumbled upon good fortune at an early age.”
She further elucidated that maintaining a partnership for such an extended period requires constant effort. Sedgwick declared, “It’s a continuous endeavor. A long-term partnership demands a lot from you”.
The couple initially met when Sedgwick was 12 in 1977. They later rekindled their acquaintance during the filming of “Lemon Sky” in 1987. They tied the knot the subsequent year.
The couple’s two offspring, Travis (34) and Sosie (32), have often been the subjects of the pair’s whimsical videos on Instagram, where they are seen serenading their farm animals or dancing together.
Recently, Bacon and Sedgwick paid tribute to “Footloose“, the film that catapulted Bacon to fame in 1984. They sported matching outfits and lip-synced to the Muni Long song “Made For Me.”
Bacon and Sedgwick’s lighthearted jest on Instagram stated, “They say after you’ve been together for a while you start to look alike. I don’t see it.” The couple charmingly paraded down a hallway in the video, donning white tank tops and jeans reminiscent of Bacon’s “Footloose” character.
In a 2020 interview with People magazine, the “Leave The World Behind” star expressed his deep admiration for Sedgwick. He referred to her as his confidant and spoke highly of her support in his career.
Bacon shared, “Kyra and I have unwavering faith in each other’s abilities as actors, directors, and talent. She has been nothing but supportive.” He also mentioned the absence of competition between them and how they shared each other’s successes as their own.
Recently, the couple announced their collaboration in the forthcoming comedy, “Connescence”. This marks their first professional collaboration since the 2004 film “Cavedweller”.
Sedgwick was recognized at the Muse Awards, where she shared the honors with “Marvellous Mrs. Maisel” star Alex Borstein and Fran Drescher.
