An Alabama judge, Johnny Hardwick, has been hospitalized after being shot and stabbed, with his son, Khalfani Hardwick, being suspected in the attack. The incident occurred after a domestic dispute turned violent.
According to reports from NBC News, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident at Judge Johnny Hardwick’s home. Upon arrival, they discovered that the judge had been assaulted, shot, and seriously injured by his son, Khalfani Hardwick. Court documents obtained from AL.com and WSFA revealed that Khalfani stabbed his father multiple times in the face and neck before shooting him in the face.
After the attack, Khalfani fled the scene but was eventually apprehended on U.S. Highway 231. He has since been charged with first-degree domestic violence and with possessing a pistol while being prohibited. The Montgomery County Detention Center is currently holding him without bond.
