Boxing World Mourns the Loss of Willie Limond
Willie Limond, a renowned former British and Commonwealth super-lightweight champion, has passed away at the age of 45.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Willie Limond had a highly successful professional boxing career spanning from 1999 to 2023. Out of his 48 professional matches, Limond emerged victorious in 42, among which 13 were won by knockout.
Despite the minor setback of losing four matches to eventual world title winners — Amir Khan, Anthony Crolla, Erik Morales, and Ricky Burns, Limond's fighting spirit remained unscathed.
Before stepping into the boxing ring, Limond was a footballer and had played five times for Albion Rovers in the late 1990s.
