Tennessee Man Suspected of Fatally Shooting Sheriff Deputy Is Finally Caught
After a several-day manhunt, a man suspected of fatally shooting a Blount County deputy and injuring another deputy in Tennessee has finally been captured. Kenneth Wayne DeHart, 42, was taken into custody in Knoxville, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office. He is facing charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The incident took place during a routine traffic stop in Maryville, where DeHart allegedly opened fire on the deputies. Deputy Greg McCowan tragically lost his life in the shooting, while Deputy Shelby Eggers was injured but has since been released from the hospital. The community has been mourning the loss of Deputy McCowan, and his funeral is scheduled to take place on Wednesday afternoon in Knoxville....
