Shocking NYPD Scandal! Sergeant Charged with Manslaughter in Suspect Death
In a shocking turn of events, an NYPD sergeant has been charged with manslaughter, assault, and criminally negligent homicide in the death of a suspect during a drug-sting operation in the Bronx. The incident occurred back in August, but the charges were recently filed by the office of Attorney General Letitia James of New York.
The tragic incident took place when the sergeant, identified as Erik Duran, attempted to apprehend a suspect on a motorbike. The suspect, Eric Duprey, was being pursued by narcotics officers who were attempting to arrest him. In an attempt to stop Duprey, Duran threw a cooler at him, causing him to lose control of the motorbike and crash. Tragically, Duprey sustained fatal injuries during the crash and lost his life.
