Out of the timeout, Milan Momcilovic showcased his composure and skill by spinning away from a double team and sinking a difficult baseline jumper to give Iowa State a 55-53 lead. Following Momcilovic’s go-ahead basket, Houston had one last chance to tie or take the lead. However, L.J. Cryer’s three-pointer missed the mark, and Iowa State secured the rebound.
