A UK-based start-up, Invisibility Shield Co., has recently unveiled its groundbreaking product – a 6-foot-tall invisibility shield called “Megashield” that can render multiple people invisible. This extraordinary technology seems to be right out of a fantastical movie like Harry Potter. The novel technology is priced at $828, a small price for experiencing the magic of invisibility!

The invisibility shield uses large, meticulously engineered lens arrays. These lenses form the face of every shield and are strategically designed to deflect light that reflects off the individual standing behind the shield, away from the viewer’s line of sight.

This carefully placed and shaped lens array manipulates the light from the surroundings, spreading it across the face of the shield. This redirected light is then directed towards the observer, effectively causing whatever is behind the shield to vanish from sight.

Despite its impressive capabilities, the technology is not flawless. It does not perfectly blend into the surroundings and creates a slightly blurred block.

The invisibility shield has practical features that add to its appeal. It is waterproof and does not require any external power source. Moreover, it is constructed from 100% recyclable materials, making it an environmentally friendly option for tech enthusiasts.

According to the designer of the Invisibility Shield, Tristan Thompson, the possibilities with these shields are limitless. Not only do they symbolize a significant technological breakthrough, but they also offer an exciting and fun experience for users.

“These shields are great fun. They’re fun to play around with and exciting for us to make,” Tristan Thompson told SWNS.

The journey of Invisibility Shield Co. has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. The company first launched its product in 2022, advertising a 3-feet-tall full-sized shield for $354 and a smaller 8-inch version for just $54.

By utilizing crowdfunding on Kickstarter, the team was able to surpass their initial goal of $6,600, promising to deliver the product to their backers by the end of the year.

The company recently updated its Kickstarter funders to announce the latest version of the invisibility shield. The new model can hide multiple people, stand independently, and can be packed down to 2.3 inches of thickness. This compactness allows users to easily carry the shield wherever they wish to “disappear”.

Tristan Thompson expressed his excitement about the development, stating that they wanted to push the boundaries of this technology. He expressed his pride in creating a functional invisibility shield that could be easily carried around.

In the words of Tristan Thompson, “Two years ago nobody thought anyone could do that.” Yet, here we stand today, witnessing the ‘Impossible’ become ‘Possible’.
