Tuesday saw a Japan Airlines aircraft catch fire upon touchdown at Tokyo’s Haneda airport; all passengers were safely evacuated, according to national broadcaster NHK.
The passenger plane was captured on camera as it moved and then burst into a massive blaze. Then, as firefighters attempted to put out the raging fire, the jet was seen coming to a stop and people were escaping using emergency slides.
NHK said that the aircraft had about 400 passengers and staff members.
CNN is reaching out to officials to confirm more details. Japan Airlines flight 516 took off from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, according to NHK. Japan Airlines says the plane collided with what appears to be a Japan Coast Guard aircraft upon landing, according to NHK. According to the flight tracking site, FlightAware, the flight was an Airbus A350-900.
