NEW YORK On New Year’s Eve, hundreds of thousands of people descended into Times Square to witness the world’s most famous ball drop in person, while billions more watched from across the globe.
The approximately 12,000-pound ball received a bow tie makeover as the enormous 2024 numerals were lifted into position above One Times Square earlier this week.
Confetti comes out like a dream kaleidoscope as midnight approaches. The wishes of all those there are carried by each piece, transforming the sky into a canvas of hopes and dreams. There is a tangible sense of shared commitment that goes beyond the individual decisions made in the quiet moments preceding this spectacular celebration—a belief in the promise of a better tomorrow.
