A group of five males emerged from the vehicle, encircling a woman and removing her clothing in the process. She was slain by a knife after being raped by one. Raz Cohen, a victim of Hamas’ homicidal rampage in Israel on October 7, alleged that after that, he raped her once more.
Cohen had gone to be with his girlfriend of two months, Maya, at the Nova music festival in the southern Israeli desert. He said that she was slain whilst attempting to escape with another buddy. Cohen told CNN that while he was running to cover in a bush, he saw another young woman shot in the head. This is the area where Cohen watched the rape.
Reports of sexual assault and rape are being recorded by Israeli police as Hamas militants stormed into Israel from Gaza, targeting the borderside kibbutz villages and music festival. Over 200 people were taken hostage and about 1,200 people were killed in the assaults, which sparked a major Israeli military reaction and international condemnation. Over 22,000 Palestinians have died as a result of Israel’s ensuing attack on Hamas in Gaza, according to the Ministry of Health, which is under Hamas control.
However, it took a while for the UN and human rights groups to condemn the claims of rape and mutilation committed against Israelis, primarily women and children but also males. Furthermore, Hamas has refuted claims that its militants engaged in sexual assaults during the planned assaults.
In a statement issued in December, UN Women, a UN organization, denounced the attacks and expressed concern about the several reports of sexual violence and gender-based crimes that occurred during those attacks.
It’s a reality, according to Cohen. “That’s what took place.”

About thirty meters from Cohen’s hiding place, a white vehicle drew up, and five guys dressed in civilian clothing stepped out.
He replied, “They caught a girl and they started ripping off her clothes.” “One of them began raping her after they undressed her. It lasted for around forty seconds. Following their rape, he took a knife to murder her. He then proceeded to rape the lifeless body after doing it.
Cohen said that the victim’s companions appeared non-infuriated.
They chuckle all the time. It was probably just for fun. They killed a great deal of people just for pleasure.
Cohen previously told The New York Times he could remember the panic of the lady he saw slain, in addition to the noises of apparent amusement. He remarked, “I can still hear her voice—screams without words.”
Cohen told CNN that he witnessed the gang pursue a guy and another woman after the incident. He said that an axe and knives were used to murder them.
CNN is unable to independently confirm Cohen’s story. How the party descended into bloodshed is demonstrated by a CNN investigation and analysis of witness testimony and footage from the Nova festival.
The 24-year-old Cohen claims he fled the horde of oncoming assailants by running across the vast desert expanse. He said it seemed like he was on a shooting range, with bullets flying in all directions and nowhere to hide.
“I was close to this girl when I ran in the open field,” he said. “I heard that she fell as I was walking by her.” I’m glancing back. and I witnessed her being shot in the head. I stared at the girl, but I couldn’t do anything to stop myself from rushing away till I reached the bush.
Cohen claimed that he had to wait nine hours in the jungle for help to come.
Superintendent Dudi Katz of the Israeli Police stated in November that since the attacks, authorities have gathered over 60,000 video clips, over 1,000 statements, and several testimonies from witnesses who claimed to have seen women raped.
He also mentioned that it was unclear if any rape victims survived and that investigators lacked direct testimony.
The music festival’s organizer, Rami Shmuel, who was also there when Cohen left, had earlier stated that he saw naked female victims and had no questions about what had transpired.
He stated to CNN, “Their legs were spread out and some of them were butchered.”
CNN was informed by a combat paramedic who wished to remain anonymous that he had seen the remains of two adolescent girls in Kibbutz Be’eri and was certain that at least one of them had been sexually assaulted.
He said, “There’s a bullet wound on the back side of her neck near her head and her trousers are pulled down towards her knees.” “Her skull is encased in a pool of blood, and the lower portion of her back has remnants of semen.”
Expert in human rights law at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Cochav Elkayam-Levy, has assembled a civil commission with associates to record proof of the assaults. Given that the victims are unable to speak for themselves, she was adamant that the crimes not be disregarded or forgotten.
“We’ll never be aware of everything that has befallen them,” Elkayam-Levy stated in a November CNN interview.”We are aware that the majority of women who experienced sexual assault and rape also ended up dead.”
