The attacker’s violent spree claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy and injured four others, including two police officers. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. The condition of the injured remains critical but stable.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak described the incident as “shocking,” stating, “Such violence has no place on our streets.” Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan reassured the public, saying, “We do not believe there is a threat to the wider community.”

The Hainault underground station was closed for a police investigation. The local community is in shock, and there’s a palpable tension in the air.

“This incident does not appear to be terror-related,” reiterated Adelekan. He confirmed that no other suspects are being sought at this time.
