The state of Oklahoma was recently rocked by news of the disappearance of two women, last seen together in a vehicle that was later found deserted by the highway in Texas County, Oklahoma. The situation took a grim turn when authorities announced the arrest of four individuals and the discovery of two bodies in connection to the case.
Veronica Butler, aged 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39 years old, were last seen together on March 30, driving in a vehicle that was later found abandoned in Texas County, Oklahoma. The pair had journeyed from a nearby Kansas locality to fetch Butler’s children. However, according to a missing person alert issued by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, they never reached their destination.
After an intense investigation, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed the arrest of four individuals on Saturday: Tad Bert Cullum, 43; Tifany Machel Adams, 54; Cole Earl Twombly, 50; and Cora Twombly, 44. All suspects face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Authorities have refrained from providing additional details, including possible motivations, connections to the victims, or evidence leading to the arrests.
On Sunday, authorities reported the discovery of two bodies in Texas County. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation stated that the bodies are still awaiting identification.
The vehicle in which Butler and Kelley were traveling was found deserted near Oklahoma State Highway 95, close to the Oklahoma and Elkhart, Kansas border. A few days after the car’s discovery, investigators announced they had found evidence indicating foul play, but have yet to elaborate on what that evidence is.
