On a recent Alaska Airlines expedition from San Diego to Seattle, a passenger identified as Desmond D. Bostick was apprehended by the FBI following multiple harassment reports. Bostick, 25, was found guilty of assault with the intent to commit a felony.
A disturbing incident onboard an Alaska Airlines flight. A male passenger has been apprehended by the FBI following multiple instances of harassment targeted at a female co-passenger.
Desmond D. Bostick, aged 25, admitted his guilt to the charge of attempting to commit a felony assault on April 11, as stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington in a news release.
Bostick confessed to repeatedly violating the personal space of an unknown female passenger to “fulfill his perverse desires” on the Alaska Airlines flight that flew from San Diego to Seattle on June 20, as per the plea agreement filed in the federal court of Seattle.
During the journey, Bostick cleverly concealed his hand under a blanket while he persistently molested the woman’s thigh, pausing only when other passengers moved around to use the lavatory. This went on for well over three hours, according to court records.
Bostick also took the liberty to squeeze the woman’s buttocks twice when she stood up to make way for another passenger. The prosecutors highlighted these disturbing details.
The terrified woman, too frightened to voice her discomfort, tried numerous times, albeit in vain, to shift her body away from Bostick, as per the court documents.
Upon landing in Seattle, Bostick made an attempt to escape quickly. The shaken woman immediately reported the incident to the Alaska Airlines flight attendants, thus initiating a police investigation.
The airline staff managed to provide the Port of Seattle police officer with Desmond Bostick’s identity. A quick search on Facebook resulted in a photo of Bostick, which the woman confirmed as her assaulter.
Bostick was indicted for abusive sexual contact in September, as stated by the prosecutors. The FBI intervened when local law enforcement failed to locate him after he fled the airport, eventually arresting him on Feb. 9.
A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines confirmed to the Miami Herald that Bostick is now barred from traveling on Alaska Airlines or Horizon, another airline under the Alaska Air Group.
