In an unfortunate incident, a party boat in Brooklyn became the scene of violence that resulted in serious injuries to multiple people. The Cornucopia Majesty, a yacht under the Manhattan Yacht Charters, witnessed a chaotic brawl that left two men critically wounded and another injured by a shattered bottle.
The mishap occurred as the boat was docking at Pier 4 near the Brooklyn Army Terminal around 5 p.m. on April 20, 2024.
Pier 4, a bustling spot located at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, transformed from a jovial party venue into a scenario of turmoil. The massive yacht, Cornucopia Majesty, docked here, witnessed a sudden eruption of violence amongst its passengers.
The fight broke out suddenly, taking everyone by surprise. Several men and women were seen engaged in a violent altercation on the pier adjacent to the yacht. The brawl escalated rapidly, with some individuals being pushed to the ground and others trying to intervene.
The incident claimed three victims, all male. A 32-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his torso, while a 40-year-old man had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. Another man, aged 28, had a bottle smashed on his head during the brawl.
According to passengers on the boat, the party had been enjoyable until the sudden outbreak of the fight. One of the passengers, Java, 50, stated, “We had a good time. Nothing happened till the end.”
Upon receiving news of the incident, the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) swiftly responded and took the victims to NYU Langone, where they are reported to be in stable condition. The police arrived on the scene and evacuated the boat.
The Cornucopia Majesty, owned by Manhattan Yacht Charters, can accommodate up to 1,200 passengers. The company’s website provides further information about the yacht.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) is currently investigating the incident. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the cause of the argument that led to the brawl remains unclear.
