Two people have died and at least nine were hospitalized after a horrific collision involving 35 vehicles on SB Interstate 5 in California.
Bakersfield officials said 17 vehicles and 18 ‘big-rigs’ were involved in the crash, with fog being considered a major factor in the tragedy.

The CHP said a multidisciplinary accident investigation team is assisting in the investigation. But the main reason for the accident is believed to be dense fog.
SB Interstate 5 has been closed between Milks Road and Old River Road and is expected to remain closed until at least Sunday.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and traffic has been detoured from eastbound Highway 223 to southbound Highway 99.
