A shooting incident at Parks Mall in Arlington has left two individuals injured. Causing panic and confusion among shoppers and employees. Authorities have been quick to respond to the situation, with the mall being evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Two people were injured after a reported shooting at Parks Mall in Arlington.

Police responded to a report of shots fired near the ice rink inside the mall around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Authorities secured the building and the mall was immediately evacuated.

Police say it appears two groups of people fought on an escalator near the ice rink. At some point during the fight, shots were fired.

According to the Arlington Police Department, officers found a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds – both were taken to an area hospital, with their injuries considered non-life-threatening.

Police said the shooter is still absconding. Authorities are working to identify and locate the shooter.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Arlington PD said they believe this was an isolated incident. Investigators are still working to determine what happened and whether the two injured people were involved.

The video showed heavy police presence at the mall on Thursday evening. Some witnesses told NBC 5 they heard at least one gunshot inside the mall.

Arlington Police say Parks Mall is expected to reopen for normal business hours on Friday.
