Sydney Sweeney And Glen Powell At Snl

In her first appearance as the host of Saturday Night Live (SNL), Sydney Sweeney humorously addressed the rumours surrounding her and co-star Glen Powell.

Sydney Sweeney, the 26-year-old actress known for her roles in popular shows like Euphoria and The White Lotus, made her debut as a host on SNL alongside musical guest, Kacey Musgraves. During her monologue, she took the opportunity to address some of the rumours that have been circulating about her on the internet.

One of the rumours Sydney addressed was about her past employment at Universal Studios. She humorously refuted the claim that she was lying about her past work experience there. Sydney also responded to a woman on TikTok who claimed to be her nutritionist.

The highlight of her monologue, however, was when she discussed the rumours about her supposed affair with co-star Glen Powell while filming the movie Anyone But You. Sydney clarified that these were mere rumours and assured everyone that she and her fiancé, who also produced the movie, are still together and stronger than ever.

As if to emphasize her point, Sydney asked the camera to cut to her fiancé who was supposedly in the audience. To everyone’s surprise, it was Glen Powell who appeared on screen, eliciting cheers from the crowd. Sydney played along with the joke, pretending to be flustered, before promising a great show.

In an earlier interview, Sydney, who is engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino, and Glen Powell, who is single, spoke about the attention they have been receiving. Despite the rumours, they maintain that they are just friends. However, they acknowledged that the attention they received helped bring more attention to their film.

Since her breakthrough role as Cassie in the HBO drama Euphoria, Sydney has become one of Hollywood’s hottest names. She starred in the crime biopic Reality, thriller Americana, and hit rom-com Anyone But You opposite Glen Powell. She also made her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in Madame Web alongside Dakota Johnson and is set to lead a psychological horror titled Immaculate, which is set to be released in March 2024.

Glen Powell revealed in an interview with Variety that they are currently reading scripts to find their next movie after Anyone But You grossed $200 million globally. He praised Sydney, saying that she is easy to work with and fun.

Sydney hinted at a possible sequel for Anyone But You during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She gave fans a glimmer of hope by stating that there is a “high nine” chance for a sequel to the successful rom-com.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

“When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got,” – Glen Powell
