Gypsy Rose Blanchard has officially filed for divorce from Anderson after release from prison

PUBLISHED: April 9, 2024 at 8:28 am

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a name that echoes the chilling tale of deception and violence, has once again found herself under the spotlight. The latest buzz around her pertains to her marriage with Ryan Anderson, which, according to reports, is on the brink of dissolution.

Blanchard’s life has been anything but ordinary. She was subjected to Munchausen by proxy, a form of abuse where a caregiver, in this case, her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, fabricated illnesses to gain sympathy and attention. This horrific saga of deception ended dramatically when Blanchard conspired with her then-boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, to murder her mother in 2016.

After serving seven years in prison, Blanchard found love behind bars in the form of her pen pal, Ryan Anderson. They got married in July 2022, shortly after Blanchard’s release from Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center on December 28, 2023.

Blanchard and Anderson’s relationship began as an innocent correspondence while Blanchard was incarcerated. The exchange of letters soon blossomed into a deep connection, leading to their decision to tie the knot in mid-2022.

Unfortunately, the wedded bliss was short-lived. In a private Facebook announcement at the end of March, Blanchard revealed that the couple had hit a rough patch and she was moving back to her father and stepmother’s home.

According to TMZ, Blanchard has officially filed for divorce from Anderson and is the petitioner in the divorce action. The reason behind their split has been attributed to Anderson’s argumentative behavior following Blanchard’s release from prison, which reportedly led to their initial separation and eventual divorce.

Sources close to Blanchard claim that she feared physical harm from Anderson after a heated argument, which was a significant factor in their breakup. Anderson, on the other hand, expressed his shock at their sudden split, stating he “was not doing too well” and that it “came out of the blue.”

In a surprising twist, Blanchard was seen spending quality time with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker. They met up in New Orleans for dinner, tattoos, and sightseeing, but maintain that they are “just friends,” at least for now.

The divorce news has stirred up intense media interest in Blanchard’s life. The upcoming Lifetime docuseries, “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up”, is expected to offer a deep dive into Blanchard’s marital struggles, as cameras have been rolling since her parole.

Blanchard’s life has been the subject of various media portrayals. Her story was dramatized in the Hulu show, “The Act,” and covered in the HBO documentary, “Mommy Dead and Dearest.” She also penned a book, “Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom”, detailing her experiences.

In the midst of this turmoil, Blanchard seems to be finding ways to move on. She recently underwent a nose job, seemingly a part of her process of reinventing herself after her split from Anderson.
