In a devastating incident that has sent shockwaves through the University of Wyoming community, three swimmers from the university’s swimming and diving team lost their lives in a tragic single-vehicle crash on a Colorado highway. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, leaving two other team members injured. The University of Wyoming, as well as the entire swimming and diving community, is mourning the loss of these young athletes.

The three swimmers who tragically lost their lives in the car crash have been identified as Charlie Clark, 19, Carson Muir, 18, and Luke Slabber, 21. Each of these young athletes had a promising future ahead of them, both in their athletic pursuits and their academic endeavors. The car crash occurred on US Highway 287, approximately 10 miles from the Wyoming-Colorado border and 25 miles north of Fort Collins, Colorado. According to reports, the swimmers’ vehicle was traveling southbound when the driver lost control of the car, causing it to swerve off the road and roll multiple times. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, and authorities have not ruled out factors such as speed, impairment, or other distractions.

Alongside the three swimmers who tragically lost their lives, two other members of the University of Wyoming swimming and diving team were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
